At CivilEdge, our goal is to equip people with the skills and confidence they need to succeed. A recent collaboration with Altus Traffic and TMNZ is a great example of how we put that into practice.
When ten experienced TMNZ team members relocated from New Zealand to Adelaide, we were pleased to support their transition and ensure they were ready to work safely and effectively in South Australia.
Rather than simply meeting compliance requirements, we focused on building confidence and capability. We delivered a tailored training program that covered South Australian and Austroads training requirements and standards and local operating practices.
The TMNZ team completed three key courses with us:
- White Card Course– the essential safety induction for construction and traffic management environments.
- AGTTM Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementation for Category 1 Roads– focusing on traffic control and implementation, communication, PTCDs, risk, TMPs and TGSs, monitoring and managing safe traffic setups on live Category 1 roads.
- AGTTM Traffic Control and Traffic Management Implementation for Category 2 Roads - focusing on traffic control and implementation, signalised intersections, high speed roads, risk, TMPs and TGSs, monitoring and managing safe traffic setups on live Category 2 roads.
Training was delivered through a blended approach, combining face to face learning, and practical, hands-on assessment. We worked with the team and drew on their existing experience while demonstrating competency in real work environments under trainer supervision.
By working closely with Altus Traffic, we ensured the transition was smooth, compliant, and efficient — reducing onboarding time, maintaining safety, and enabling the team to begin work with confidence.
This project highlights the value of locally informed, tailored training in supporting workforce mobility and organisational growth. We’re proud to have assisted the TMNZ team and look forward to continuing to support teams as they expand into new regions.
